Poeta is a platform for writers to share their creative work and connect with readers. We strive to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inspiring community for all.

Be Respectful

• Treat others with kindness and respect
• Engage in constructive criticism, not personal attacks
• Respect different perspectives and writing styles
• Be supportive of fellow writers

Content Standards

Encouraged Content

• Original poetry and creative writing
• Thoughtful reflections and personal essays
• Artistic expression in various forms
• Thoughtful, supportive feedback to other writers

Prohibited Content

• Hate speech or discriminatory content
• Harassment, bullying, or threats
• Explicit sexual content or pornography
• Graphic violence or gore
• Spam or excessive self-promotion
• Plagiarized or stolen content
• Illegal content or activity
• Misinformation or harmful conspiracy theories

Intellectual Property

• Only post content you have created or have permission to share
• Give credit when sharing or referencing others' work
• Respect copyright and intellectual property rights
• Report content that infringes on your rights

Privacy and Safety

• Do not share personal information about others without consent
• Respect others' privacy
• Do not engage in doxxing or harassment
• Report concerning behavior to us

Authentic Engagement

• Be genuine in your interactions
• Do not use bots or automation to inflate engagement
• Do not create fake accounts or impersonate others
• Avoid engagement manipulation schemes

Sensitive Content

We understand that poetry and creative writing often explore difficult themes. Content that discusses sensitive topics (mental health, trauma, etc.) is allowed if:

• It is presented thoughtfully and respectfully
• It does not glorify harmful behavior
• It serves an artistic or educational purpose

Reporting and Moderation

If you see content that violates these guidelines:

• Use the Report button on the poem. It reaches the queue we read
• If it is an intimate image of you published without your consent, use our removal form instead. You do not need an account and we act within 48 hours
• Or email us at poeta@maclin.io with a link to the content
• Do not engage with or amplify harmful content

We review every report and take appropriate action, which may include:

• Content removal
• Warning to the user
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent account termination

Blocking

You can block another account from their profile. Neither of you will see the other in feeds, in discover or in search, and neither can follow the other. Be aware of what blocking cannot do: poems on Poeta are public, so someone you have blocked can still read your work by signing out. If you need something taken down rather than hidden from your own view, report it.

Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

• Content removal
• Account restrictions
• Temporary or permanent suspension
• Legal action in severe cases
